A mid-September ripening, very worthwhile grape giving heavy crops of green-white berries that yield large quantities of juice for wine, and may also be enjoyed fresh. Makes an outstanding white wine.
Vitis vinifera ‘Madeleine Angevine’ This golden-yellow, thin-skinned grape consistently ripens in the Pacific Northwest and does well in areas with cooler summers. It’s a heavy producer that makes an excellent white Reisling-type wine, with citrus aromas, and notes of apricot or peach, and honey. It ripens early October, and is a consistent producer. Bunch rot and mildew susceptible. Grows in USDA Zone 5-9.
