Tulameen is a late ripening cultivar that has been widely planted throughout the world. Large vivid red fruit is the plant’s main attraction. Fruits have a very fine flavor and good quality. A vigorous plant that bears fruit from July through August.
Canes are normally dug in the Spring for transplanting. Fall canes can be dug buy preordering ahead of time.
Description
Tulameen produces enormous, light red, aromatic fruit with a wonderful flavor. Besides berries that are 25% bigger than Meeker, Tulameen uniquely extends the summer raspberry season through July and August, producing for up to 50 days. Great for backyard growers who can provide well drained soil.
The canes are upright not too prickly. It will grow to a height of 5′ to 8′ tall and from 2′ to 4′ wide . Keep the raspberries watered well during fruit ripening stage to ensure large berries. Pruning second-year canes to the ground in fall will result in better quality fruit the following season. Tulameen raspberries are great for fresh eating, canning, freezing, or baking.
Butterflies and bees are attracted to the flowers. Raspberries are rich source of vitamin C and they are high in manganese. They are also very high in dietary fiber. Raspberries are self pollinating. Likes full sun. Grown successfully in Hardiness Zones 6b-9b.
