Description
Cherry Red currant’s fruit clusters are short and loose. The berries are very large, bright dark red, acidic and good. Plants are vigorous, upright and productive. Cherry Red resists mildew, a real plus in humid areas. A small bush in the landscape, Cherry Red is good in shade against buildings and with borders including strawberries or low growing herbs or flowers. Mixing with Josta or white and black currants 5′ apart is fine since they are similar in size and habit. Space 5′ circle Zones 3-7.
